Shanxi, literally means "west of the mountain”, is location to the west of Taihang Mountain and on the middle segment of the yellow river as one of the origins of Chinese civilization. It has abundance of cultural sites from its long history and rich culture.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival Datong
Arrival Datong. Be greeted by our local guide then head out for Yungang Grottos.
Yungang Grottos were built against the mountain and extend about 1 km from east to west.
Please be aware of that you will take care of your own lunch today.

Day 2 Datong to Wutaishan
Out of Datong, drive to Hengshan, the Northern Mountain of the Five Sacred Mountains.
Then get to Hengshan for the Hanging monastery. The temple is hung on the middle of the cliff and is still in perfect conditions after so many years.
After lunch, drive to Yingxian for the Wooden Pagoda. Since it was built completely of timber, it has been known popularly as the Wooden Pagoda of Yingxian County.
From Yingxian, drive to Wutaishan, one of the greatest sacred mountains in Buddhism.

Day 3 Wutaishan
Today, spend the whole day in Wutaishan to explore the beautiful mountains in which dotted with uncountable temples.
In the morning, come to Xiantong Temple. Xiantong Temple was firstly built in Han Dyansty around 2,000 years ago and is one of the most ancient temples in China.
After lunch, drive to Tayuan Temple. In the temple lies the symbol of Wutaishan-The Grand Whitel Pogoda. The 200 bronze rings around the white pogoda enriches its uniqueness.

Day 4 Wutaishan to Pingyao via Jinci & Qiao Courtyard
This morning, wave goodbye to the tranquil Wutaishan and drive south to Pingyao.
But our first stop is in Jinci temple, a small temple was built to honor Yu, one of the most respectable Kings.
After lunch, drive south to Qiao Family Courtyard. Spend about one hour to admire the fine architectures, beautiful gardenings and learn the stories of the family in the large garden.
After the courtyard, drive about one hour to Pingyao ancient town, the World Heritage. Tonight, stay in the hotel with traditional Chinese characters.

Day 5 Pingyao
This morning, our tour will start with the ancient city wall. Pingyao Ancient City is one of the best preserved examples of a walled city center of Shanxi province, including Rishengchang, Yamun, the ancient government office building, also in courtyard style.
After lunch, drive out of the ancient city to visit two temples which are listed as World Heritage with the ancient city-Zhenguo Temple and Shuanglin Temple.
Enjoy free time to explore around the ancient city when after heading back.

Day 6 Depart Pingyao
Enjoy free time to explore around Pingao ancient city till our guide meet up and tranfer you to the airport.
