Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Xi’ning, Board on the train to Lhasa
Take morning flight to Xi’ning. Be greeted by our local guide and transfer to the Xi’ning Railway Station and board on the train with soft berth.
The train ride to Lhasa from Xi’ning is about 1,960km, taking about 24 hours when you can enjoy the scenery.

Day 2 Arrive Lhasa
The train will hit Tibetan Plateau from Kunlun Mountains pass, then Tanggula Mountain Pass and arrives at Lhasa at 14:30pm.
When you arrive at Lhasa, be greeted by our local guide and transfer to the hotel.
After a short break in the hotel, visit the Barkhor Market around the Jokhang Temple, where we can join the Tibetan pilgrim circling around Jokhang Temple on Barkhor Street.
A leisure walk is good for us to acclimatize to the high latitude especially after the long day on the train.

Day 3 Lhasa-Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple
This morning, we come to visit the World Heritage listed Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the 7th century, symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its central role in the traditional administration of Tibet.
Afterwards, we visit Jokhang Temple, also founded in the 7th century listed on the World Heritage. It is an exceptional Buddhist religious complex.

Day 4 Lhasa-Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery
Early in the morning, we start to explore Drepung Monastery which was one of Tibet\'s largest monastery and monastic universities.
Afterwards, visit the Sera Monastery in the afternoon. Sera Monastery is well known as the 3 great monasteries of Tibet with Drepung and Ganden.

Day 5 Namtso Lake
We drive 220km for Namtso Lake in the morning. It is one of the three saint lakes of Tibet, covered with a veiling of mystery and sanctity.
In the afternoon, we drive back Lhasa.

Day 6 Drive to Tsedang, Samye Monastery
After breakfast, drive 150km/94miles to Tsedang. It is the birthplace of the earliest Tibetans and the political and economic centre of Shannan Prefecture.
Located in the mountain area of Chanang County, the Samye Monastery is the first temple built in Tibet owning all the three Buddhist treasures of Buddha, Dharma and Monks. In the late afternoon, we drive back Tsetang.

Day 7 Trandruk Monastery, the Tumuli of the Tibetan Kings, Yumbu-Lha Khang
In the morning, drive to visit King’s Tombs, buried here are the kings, the ministers and the royal concubines from the 29th Tuboking to the last.
Afterwards, drive to Yumbu-Lha Khang, and Trandruk Monastery, one of the earliest Buddhist monasteries in Tibet, a significant stop for Tibetan pilgrims.

Day 8 Depart Lhasa
After Breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to home.
Enjoy a leisure morning in Lhasa before transfer to airport leaving Lhasa.
