Day 01: Arrive in Beijing
Arrive Beijing, meet your local guide and transfer to hotel. Enjoy free time for jet-leg stretching.
Optional: Meet the group at the hotel lobby at 6:30 pm and transfer to enjoy Peiking Ducks in an authentic restaurant.

Day 02: Beijing to Beidaihe
Get up early to catch morning train of D17 (0915-1120) to Beidaihe. Upon arrival, meet your Beidaihe guide and transfer for lunch.
We start our bird watching in the afternoon right around the city. The Summer Resort of Beidaihe is at the border of Bohai Sea on China’s east coast region. It has become firmly established as the best places for watching the bird migration in all of East Asia. There are totally about 400 species of birds have been recorded at Beidaihe, some of them such as Japanese Swamp Warbler Relict and Saunders’ Gull and Manchurian Reed Warbler are globally endangered.

Day 03: Beidaihe
If get up early, you’re free to embark on a leisure bird-watching just nearby your hotel.
After breakfast, we drive out of the city of Beidaihe to Lianfengshan for bird watching. Lianfengshan Mountain, also called Lianpengshan named after its shape of lotus, is a Forest Park taken as summer resort back in late Qing dynasty, where there’re opportunities of observe more than 100 rare birds.
Lunch will be arranged subject to actual situation.
In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Yanghe frith or Dapu Riverside for bird watching.

Day 04: Beidaihe
We get up early and drive to Jiaoshan Great Wall at Shanhaiguan, an hour’s drive north of Beidaihe. Apart from seeing the Wall, where it ascends the mountains on its way west away from the coastal plain, we share search for Vinous-throated Parrotbill, Plain Laughingthrush, White-browed Chinese Warblers and Siberian Meadow Buntings, and if winds are favorable we may also see some raptors.
In the afternoon, we drive for bird watching at Shihekou area.

Day 05: Beidaihe to Happy Island
We’ll start early for Happy Island, stopping a couple of times en route for birding. Picnic box lunch will be prepared. Masses of shorebirds should include flocks of Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Red-necked and Long-toed Stints, Far Eastern Curlew, Pacific Golden Plover, Lesser Sand Plover, Great Knot and with luck Grey-tailed Tattler, Greater Sand Plover, Grey-headed Lapwing and Asian Dowitcher will also be found in small numbers, alongside familiar species such as Spotted and Common Redshanks etc..We will always remain optimistic of finding an enigmatic Spoon-billed Sandpiper, though we shall certainly need some good fortune to find one!
We take about 40 minutes crossing to the island in the late afternoon.

Day 06-07: Happy Island
Situated on the superb “East Asia flyway”, Happy Island measures a mere 4 km by 2.5 km. During our 2 and a half day on the island, we expect two or three major falls involving large numbers of passerines. In additiona, vagrants get caught up in the roving weather systems and turn up on the island, sometimes staying for several days. As the island is relatively small it is also the perfect place for anyone wishing to pursue special interests such as bird photography or regular wader counting.

Day 08: Beidaihe to Beijing
Capture the last chance of seeing more birds on Happy Island in the early morning before we leaving Happy Island for Beidaihe. Observe birdings en route.
Lunch at Beidaihe before catching the afternoon train D6620 (1536/1741) back to Beijing. Meet your Beijing guide and transfer back to hotel.

Day 09: Depart Beijing
Enjoy a leisure morning either at hotel or walk around on your own before transferring to airport for flight to home or next destination.
