Day 1: Beijing to Beidaihe

Meet perse China Travel Beijing guide in the hotel you stay in Beijing and transfer to the railway station for about 3 hours train to Beidaihe in the morning. After lunch, drive to Laolongtou. Laolongtou is the east end of the Great Wall by the sea. Get on the wall with great view of the Great Wall leading the sea to the east and mountains to the west. Then,  hike 3 km from Chenghailou Tower to Shanhaiguan Pass which is appraised as the First Pass Under Heaven. Shanhaiguan had played an incomparable strategic important role in China’s history. Tour around the tower of Shanhaiguan and if time permits, continue to hike along the Great Wall from Shanghaiguan to the foot of Jiaoshan.

Today, the hiking is more like warm up.

Day 2: Jiaoshan to Sandaoguan

This morning, drive to the foot of Jiaoshan and start hiking with ascending to the peak. Jiaoshan is about 3km to the north of Shanhaiguan lies Jiaoshan. The altitude of its highest peak, Da Ping Ding, is 519 meters. Just as its name implies in Chinese, Jiaoshan is like the horn of the dragon. On the top of Jiaoshan, we could see the whole eastern section of Great Wall.

After Jiaoshan, keep on hiking downhill and uphill for a couple of times, the scenery is just amazing. In late afternoon, get to a village by Sandaoguan which is the trail end of our hiking today. Then, drive back Shanhaiguan.

Today hike about 6hours and take lunch box.

Day3 Dongjiakou to Great Wall Village

Today drive about 40 km to Dongjiakou after breakfast. This section of the Great Wall occupies a strategic importance in history. It is about 8.5kms long which only can be hiked partially with 36 watch towers, 28 bholds and 16 signal fire towers. The highest altitude of the Great Wall here is 556 meters.

The trek from Dongjiakou starts with the various construction with embossment on some of the arches which are very rare to see. It is General Qi Jiguang, who was the governor of Fujian province has brought the artisans here for this part of construction. 

About 2.5 hours later, descend down the wall to a local family for lunch. The village has been called Great Wall village because one of the resident here is a vanguard of protecting Great Wall in the very beginning.

In the afternoon, hike 1.5 more hours and then head back hotel by car.

Day 4 Luweishan to Liujiakou

After breakfast, drive 2 hours about 130kms to Luweishan, which literally means the hill of Deer Tail for its formation.

The Great Wall on this section is also wild and renowned as Great Wall in the Water. The Great Wall here was built during 15th century and remains to today with few rebuilt and still is one of the best reserved sections among Ming Great Walls. Also, dues to the rich waterfall, the vegetation here is quite prosperous and it quite rare to see in the northern area of China.

It is about 4-5 km and the trekking will take about 5 hours to Liujiakou village. Then drive to Zunhua town for hotel check in.

Day 5 Zunhua to Huangyaguan

Drive 3 hours to East Qing Mausoleum, which is about 330-year-old constitute the largest Qing Dynasty imperial mausoleum complex in China. The mausoleums are well preserved in their original lay out. Spend some time here and then continue driving 1.5 hours to get to Huangyaguan Great Wall.

Huangya literally means "yellow cliff" and named after the yellowish hills and rocks nearby. It was originally built in Tianbao 7th of Beiqi (557 A D); the Huangyaguan was mainly repaired for the first time in Ming Dynasty with bricks under the leadership of General Qi Jiguang.

If weather permits, could admire the sunset over the Yellow cliff from our hotel. Also if clients like,  can climb a small section of Huangyaguan on the western section.

Day 6 Huangyaguan to Simatai

This morning, drive about 20 minutes up to Taipingzhai village, where start our 3-4 km hiking from Taipingzhai to Huangyaguan.

After lunch, drive to Simatai. If time permits, we come to hike the eastern section of Simatai Great Wall.

Simatai Great Wall is well known for its ruggedness. The construction of Simatai Great Wall started under the supervision of General Xuda in the early Hongwu years (1368-1398) of the Ming Dynasty. It is 5 km long with all together 35 watchtowers.

Day 7 Hike from Simatai to Jinshanling

We start to 12 kms hike westwards to Jinshanling after our breakfast.

Jinshanling Great Wall is one of the best preserved parts of the Great Wall with many original features. It got its name because it was built on the Greater and Lesser Jinshan (‘Gold Mountain’) Ranges. The Jinshanling Great Wall has not been repaired since 1570. It is a remote and relatively isolated section of the Great Wall. As there are relatively few tourists at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a good place to explore on foot.

Day 8 Jinshanling to Gubeikou to Huairou

Start 12 km about 5 hours hike along the Great Wall from Jinshanling to Gubeikou in the morning. Today, the Great Wall we cover is not as magnificent as Jinshanling or Simatai but more fragmentary which show a different appearance.

As early as 2,500 years ago, a fortification was built in Gubeikou and is was constantly reinforced throughout the following dynasties, hence then it started served as a strategic important hinge, linking the southern and northern areas of the Yanshan Mountain., The main part of today\'s Gubeikou Wall was constructed under the supervision of Xu Da, a noted general in the Ming Dynasty. It runs for more than 20 kilometers and consists of four sections: Wohushan, Panlongshan, Jinshanling, and Simatai.

In the afternoon, get to Gubeikou town and drive about 1 hour to Huairou town.

Day 9 Huairou to Jiankou

This morning, drive out of the town of Huairou into the mountain again, taking over a mountain pass to Jiankou. Stay in Xizhazi village tonight. Xizhazi village is located right by Jiankou Great Wall and so convenient to explore different section of the Wall.

Jiankou has a large range of the Great Wall and worth to explore around for a couple of days. Today, when get to Xizhazi Village, we will look around the village and come to hike around the one of the sections here.

After check in the home stay, start half day hiking along on section of the Great Wall.

Day 10 Jiankou to Beijing

This morning, hike from the other section of Jiankou Great Wall to Mutianyu Great Wall.

Mutianyu was started to construct in Northern Qi (550-577) and rebuilt by General Xu Da on its original foundation during the Ming Hong Wu reign (1368-1398). The Mutianyu was erected in 1404 (the 2nd year of the Ming Yong Le reign). The construction continued when General Qi Jiguang was transferred to Jizhou in 1568 (the 2nd year of the Long Qing reign). 

In late afternoon, take cable car down to the parking lot and drive 2 hours back Beijing, to the hotel where going to stay.

Farewell dinner tonight.

Day 11 Depart Beijing

Enjoy free time to explore around the city before transfer to the airport for flight to other destination or back home.
